Support Services

The Alzheimer Society of Peterborough & Area offers supportive services to individuals in the counties of Peterborough, Northumberland and Haliburton.

Services include individual, family and group support, education and advocacy through phone, office and home visits.  An individual does not need a diagnosis or a doctor’s referral to access our support services.  Anyone can contact a Support Services Coordinator, including the individual, his or her family, friends and neighbours.  Our Support Services Coordinators can provide information about Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, getting a diagnosis, its predicted course, treatments and care options.

Click on the links below to find out more about the services available in your area.

NOTE: The sessions are open to caregivers, family, and friends of persons with Alzheimer’s Disease or a related dementia. Information and an exchange of coping skills are shared in a relaxed friendly atmosphere with a Support Services Coordinator.

For more information on any of the above groups, please contact Sandi May at (705) 748-5131 or 1-800-561-2588.
